The Development Center for Finance (DCF) successfully conducted the 2025 Financial Planning and Forecasting Webinar on November 8, 15, and 22. It was attended by 22 participants from different companies and various industries.

Sir Arthur S. Cayanan warmly welcomed the participants to the first session. His session covered critical macroeconomic variables considered in financial planning, industry analysis, and essential steps in financial planning. Sir Cayanan’s extensive experience and insightful commentary added depth to the discussion, enriching the overall learning experience.

The second session was handled by Sir Mikhael Anjelu Magana. Participants learned financial statement analysis techniques and practical tools in financial planning and forecasting. Exercises were used to ensure these skills were both understood and applied effectively.

The final session, led by Sir John Lester H. Aratea, brought theory to practice. Participants created a real-world financial forecast for a Philippine-listed company, including 5-year income statements, statements of financial position, and statements of cash flows. Drawing from his academic and professional experience, Sir Aratea simplified the complex forecasting process into manageable steps while introducing participants to useful MS Excel formulas for practical application.
Some of the feedback from the participants about the 3-day webinar was as follows:
“Thank you Sir Art and team for this very interesting and insightful webinar. Learned a lot and I enjoyed the discussion. Examples are real-life, very relatable and practical.”
“The discussions clearly reflected Sir Mike’s deep expertise, and the worksheets served as excellent supplementary resources.”
“Thank you, Asst. Prof. Aratea for the clear and detailed explanation of the topic. Thank you, DCF for this very insightful and interesting learning experience. I have now a clearer understanding of financial planning, forecasting and modelling which I can apply in my current work in budgeting. A very productive 3-day seminar. Kudos to the DCF team!”
