DCF successfully conducted its 3-day Financial Planning and Forecasting public seminar held on November 24, December 1 & 8, 2018 at the Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
Dr. Arthur Cayanan handled Day 1. He discussed the important building blocks needed for Financial Planning and Forecasting – Macroeconomics with actual Philippine historical data, Industry Analysis including some of the common tools used and Strategic Planning.
Financial statement analysis, another building block, was discussed by Ms. Pamela S. Lloren-Alcantara on Day 2. She explained the process of financial forecasting using the financial statement method as well as the steps to prepare a cash budget. Topics were reinforced with several exercises.
Day 3 was held at the computer laboratory where Professor Diogenes Dy gave participants hands-on experience in Financial Modeling using MS Excel. They did forecasting of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, as well as discounted cash flow valuation.
