The Development Center for Finance (DCF) recently concluded the second run of its Financial Statement Analysis webinar, bringing together 28 participants across various companies and industries every Saturday of July 2026.

The first two sessions focused on the fundamentals of financial statement preparation—an essential prelude to analysis:

• Day 1: Dr. Pamela Lloren-Alcantara detailed the relationships between different financial statements and explained the presentation of assets and liabilities in the statement of financial position.

• Day 2: Sir Remvert Bryan Placido covered the presentation of equity and guided participants through the mechanics of the income statement and statement of cash flows.

Both sessions reinforced key concepts using practical exercises and real-world examples from Philippine corporations.

The second half of the webinar shifted focus to analytical tools, techniques, and real-world execution:

• Day 3: Sir Lester Aratea walked participants through the step-by-step analysis process, highlighting ratio interpretation and the critical role of qualitative context alongside numerical data. A Philippine publicly listed company was used for the analysis.

• Day 4 (Morning): Sir Mike Magana covered common-size analysis, trend analysis, and break-even analysis, with participants applying these tools directly to the financial statements of a Philippine publicly listed company.

• Day 4 (Afternoon): Sir Art Cayanan capped off the webinar by leading hands-on case studies, giving attendees a front-row look at financial statement analysis in action.
